Ahmad Emad Khalifa is a filmmaker and artist, based in Cairo, Egypt. Khalifa grew up in Beni Suef, Egypt, and attended the Academy of Arts, High Cinema Institute, Department of Animated Films. In 2013, While there, he directed his first short film, Scarf, a 15-minute mixed-media animation and live-action work. He then began his filmmaking journey alongside working as a commercial director. Over the last years, Khalifa has also been an instructor at the High Cinema Institute, Animation Department, where he teaches directing and screenwriting. Long before becoming a director, Khalifa expressed himself through drawing, playing music, and acting, all of which have become an integral part of his creative process, which he continues to pursue to this day. Animation was the foundation of his studies, where he developed a deep understanding of filmmaking learning how to construct a film from the ground up. That foundation shaped his approach to cinema and led him toward live-action filmmaking. He works as a director cinema and advertising, with a focus on visual storytelling, rhythm, and cinematic precision. His work is driven by building emotion through image, movement, and structure.
